pvssy talk

Discussing sexual education on the internet is sensitive; addressing sexual pain is even more challenging. These issues affect the mental and physical health of individuals, as well as their romantic, sexual, and parental lives.

In this project, we encountered several challenges: educating about a taboo and intimate topic while working to destigmatize sexual pain through a sex-positive approach. To ensure thorough and balanced information, the website features articles that combine medical and sexological perspectives on each type of pain, emphasizing their equal importance.

The project received 3 awards : the Geneva Red Cross Prix Art et Humanité Audience Award, the Pulse Incubateur HES Special Jury Prize, and the Forum de l’Innovation Sociale Award.

Homepage of the Pussy Talk website. The slogan 'Having pain is not normal' is prominently displayed on the right half of the screen. On the left side, a vibrant orange gradient circle animates, expanding and contracting to represent the intensity of pain.

We wanted to distance ourselves from the often sterile and impersonal design of medical websites by offering a softer, more inviting alternative. This is reflected in the color palette, typography, and tone of the content.

Noémie Creux’s illustrations play a key role in the site, providing both precise anatomical diagrams and poetic representations of pain and pleasure. This approach helps to address the taboo surrounding sexual pain with sensitivity.

The site is designed as a comprehensive platform where users can easily access accessible information about sexual pain, find specialists through a curated directory, and reconnect with their bodies and pleasure through sexological exercises.

Screenshot of the section titled 'Inform Yourself About Your Pain,' which allows users to select the area where they experience pain, such as the vulva, vagina, uterus, etc. The site then provides a list of associated pains. Here, the selected filter is 'vagina,' and the suggested pains are vaginal dryness, vaginismus, and retroverted uterus. Each pain is represented by a poetic illustration in vibrant and warm colors.
Mobile version: the illustration shows a person with a vulva looking at their anatomy in a small mirror. The section is titled 'What if you took the time to rediscover your intimate anatomy?'
Mobile version of an article titled 'Should You Consult or Not?' It features a colorful illustration depicting a consultation with a healthcare provider examining a person lying on their back using a speculum. Both characters are smiling.
Mobile version of the article on lichen sclerosus. It features an illustration of dark purple underwear with a textured white heart-shaped pattern.
Article on polycystic ovary syndrome. Each article is written with both a medical and a psycho-sexological approach. It also includes diagrams to illustrate certain types of pain, such as the cysts specific to polycystic ovary syndrome shown here.
Exercises page based on the type of pain experienced. A menu allows users to select an exercise by pre-selecting their specific pain.
Illustration for the article on vaginal dryness. The illustration depicts a vase with a green plant that is wilting. The colors are vivid, featuring shades of purple and bright green.
